Paul Vermette is the founder of Drums Up and has been a music facilitator now for over 15 years and has worked across the board with a wide variety of groups. Over the years Paul's experience and skills have grown along side his passion to offer people the opportunity to not only have fun but to " become more of who they are " building on confidence and self-esteem and promoting health and well-being. In 2015 Paul received funding from SSE cornwall to help launch his vision which is to reach more people across the country by training and teaching the tools to musicians to provide interactive rhythm therapy sessions to a wide variety of groups in the community. In April 2017 Drums Up will be officialy a C I C ( community interest company) and will be looking for sponsors and funders alike to help Drums Up reach more people in the community. Paul has had great success throughout the south west visiting carehomes, day centres and schools.

 

What is especialy unique is that Drums Up sessions have Original live music and rhythms which are especially designed to uplift the soul and bring about a greater sense of presence and well being to the clients and manage to include everyone no matter there ability with everyone creating music together in harmony.

 

Paul is currently training new facilitators whilst covering west cornwall with his sessions.

Robert Gilbert has recently trained fulfilling his position as a music facilitator within Drums Up.

Robert's enthusiasm to create original and up lifting rhythmic music, which engages all ages and ability's comes from 30yrs of musical learning and performing ,combining also over 15yrs of working with young adults and people who have multi complex needs and server learning disability's .

What is especially important is that Robert believes that music and rhythm together, can reach out to everyone no matter how impaired their ability or disability is .

Inclusion with empowerment gives a great sense of well being, balance and harmony .

Robert is currently based between Truro and St Austell and is covering the East Cornwall Area.
